How we keep the table a good place to be
The social features these guidelines cover (messages, chats, walls) aren't switched on yet — the guidelines apply from the day they launch.
The Gathering Table is a community built on warmth and good company. These guidelines apply everywhere members talk to each other — direct messages, group and club chats, and venue and community walls. By using these features you agree to follow them.
Be kind and respectful
Treat everyone the way you'd want to be treated at a friend's table. Disagree well, assume good faith, and make room for people who are new or shy.
What's not allowed
- Harassment, bullying, threats or targeting someone.
- Hate speech or slurs of any kind — including language that's implied or dressed up rather than said outright.
- Sexual, explicit or otherwise inappropriate content.
- Anything illegal, or content that puts anyone — especially children — at risk.
- Spam, scams, or relentless self-promotion.
- Sharing someone else's private information without their consent.
Reporting & blocking
Every profile, message and post has a Report option, and you can block anyone from your profile page. Reports are private — the person you report isn't told who flagged them. We capture the content at the moment you report it, so it can be reviewed even if it's later deleted.
How we moderate
Our team reviews every report. Depending on what we find we may remove the content, issue a warning, or ban the account from all social features. Serious or repeated breaches mean an immediate ban. We also run an automatic filter that blocks the worst language before it's ever posted — but the human review is the backstop, and our decision is final.
Keeping it for grown-ups, for now
The social side of The Gathering Table will be for verified adult members only when it launches. If you come across anyone who appears to be under 18 using these features, please report it straight away.
